The Hickory Classic is a 1920's style charity golf tournament played in 1920's style clothing sponsored by The Golf Foundation of Colorado. Proceeds are directed to college scholarships for Colorado high school seniors interested in attending the accredited PGA Professional Golf Management program.

The gym was packed during a deployment departure ceremony for approximately 80 soldiers with the 928th Area Support Medical Company at Garcia Gym at Fort Carson on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011. The unit will be deployed to Afghanistan but will first head to Fort Lewis, Wash. where they will receive language and cultural training and additional training to prepare them for their deployment. The Unit is part of the Colorado National Guard.

The Fall Fest at Wishing Star Farm is a fun weekend event for all ages this month. On Thursday through Sunday for the month of October, participants at the fest can climb the hay pyramid, ride the barrel train, play in a corn trough, pet farm animals or slide down a large gorge slide. Wishing Star Farm is located north of Black Forest on Ropers Point.
